Description

Spend your holiday in a paradise villa within the rainforest: Villa Vajra.

Draped by the tropical wild of Bali, Villa Vajra lies inconspicuously amidst the rural river valley gorge of Ubud and is the ideal paradise villa for those looking to immerse themselves in tranquility during their holiday.
Designed by renowned architect, Guy Morgan, and drawing its unique name from the object used in Tibetan rituals to represent the sword of wisdom slicing through ignorance, Villa Vajra sits restfully against the contours of the natural landscapes and is hemmed by undisturbed rice fields that lend no hint to the sublime luxury beyond.

Delight in unending luxury.

Villa Vajra is designed to be environmentally friendly at every step of the way. From a garden sustained by organic waste water to sourcing naturally grown food, this paradise villa compels guests to effortlessly do their bit for nature during their holiday. Energy saving policies are embedded throughout the villa.
The architecture of the villa itself does not skimp on providing breath taking luxury from every angle. The structure is comprised of two buildings, linked on the upper level by an open air deck with a private pergola and a lotus pond that stretches beyond it. Its three bedrooms, consisting of a master bedroom, guest room and studio, are uniquely designed to provide guests with the epitome of rustic comfort amidst the jungle. En-suite bathrooms uphold open-air living concepts. Each bedroom boasts rich teakwood features and sliding glass doors open up to the lush foliage of the river valley below.

Eco-friendly concepts combined with tasteful comfort.

The living and dining pavilion are capped by soaring roofs that encompass the height of the villa. This area is characterized by coconut wood pillars and stone plinths that indulge guests in the grandeur of traditional lavishness, whole marble floors keep the villa cool throughout Bali’s tropical heat.
The kitchen is linked to the dining area via a hatch. Guests have access to a cook who can prepare local and Western cuisine to suit any taste. Additional features of this holiday paradise villa include a workout room, an aviary. Villa Vajra is set apart by its semi-circular timber deck that extends over the lush river valley below, which offers awe-inspiring views. This area also doubles as a romantic dining spot when lit up by lanterns at night. The deck is testament to Villa Vajra’s eco-friendly concepts, with live jackfruit trees rising from the valley beneath through holes cut into the deck. Furthermore, a water-recycling system sustains the 24 m2 cascading infinity edge swimming pool with built in Jacuzzi.
Scattered throughout the villa are antique Buddhist statues, rattan furniture, plush sofas and steel lanterns to provide guests with an aesthetic experience at every glance. Paintings by local artists decorate the walls to illustrate Ubud’s central position in the art world.

The perfect paradise holiday villa for your retreat into the wild.

The staff quarters are located behind the villa, so guests have easy access to the hospitality that Villa Vajra has to offer. Here, guests can arrange for laundry services, massages and tours around the island to take in Bali’s bustling cities. Alternatively, guests can seclude themselves in their nest amidst the trees and listen to the unending flow of the Ooz River as it winds through the gorge below.

“Beyond magical”
From the graciousness of the hosts, the attentiveness of the staff, the luxury of the living accommodation, the refinement of the food, the magical setting- one is hard pressed to find words to capture our experience. We have traveled extensively in Asia, stayed in five star properties, and this Villa outstrips the finest. Hosts Joel and Nigrantha bent over backwards to ensure this was a dream vacation.
We can"t wait to come back

“1 week stay family of 4”
We travelled up with Garuda from Perth which was 3 hours and fine. Guisti the villa manager met us and we travelled up in anew toyota people carrier the 1-2 hours or so thru Ubud to the villa. Lovely accomodation just as it looks in the photos. Delightful staff who have excellent english and looked after us all very well. Food is cooked by a number of trained chefs and is of a very high standard. We went for the Balinese and really enjoyed all the dishes. The local wine is drinkable although its a good idea to bring your duty free allowance in.
Guisti transported us into Ubud as needed and we booked the odd trip such as a bike tour with halobike tours from the villa. The owners Joel and Ngarratha are a lovely couple and full of enthusiasm. I took a walk up the local village main street which is interesting - you will meet relatives of the villa staff as you wander up.
Overall a really great place to stay in central Bali.

“Pure Bliss”
I have just returned home after spending our last 4 nights in Bali at Villa Vajra over Nyepi. I now wish we spent all of our time on the island there. The photos of the villa on this website are beautiful but fail to communicate just how special it really is. The accomodations are gorgeous but it is the peace and quiet, the sound of the waterfall by the pool, the meandering garden paths leading down the valley, the fireflies over the stunning rice paddies at night, the sound of the roosters crowing and fog in the valley in the morning and the music that can be heard coming from the nearby temple faintly in the background that make it so magical. I had massages almost daily in the bale which wasn't so bad either! We had day trips planned in and around Ubud but cancelled and decided to just stay at the villa for the majority of our stay. The staff are friendly and attentive although discreet and not in your face the entire time. Gusti the manager never missed a beat recommending great restaurants, booking them for us, arranging beauty treatments and driving us to Ubud centre and also taking us to an Ogah Ogah parade at a village nearby. We mainly ate in the villa and the chef Ketut is very talented with the food very well priced. The owners are lovely and made the time to come over for a chat. They are very interesting people, we enjoyed hearing about life in Bali from their perspective and learnt a lot. They are talented artists and a photographer and we enjoyed seeing some of their work. My family and I have been to Bali more times than we can count and have stayed in many private villas, I had my wedding in one of the most pricey villas on the island but we all agree that Villa Vajra has been our favourite so far. If you are in need of the ultimate rest and relaxation I absolutely recommend staying here.
